August 14, 9:00 p.m.:  Parker Ridge Fire crosses West Side Road; Officials issue evacuation notice for nearby residents

At 8:00 p.m. this evening, the Idaho Panhandle National Forest and the Bonners Ferry Ranger District of the U.S. Forest Service issued the following evacuation order regarding the Parker Ridge Fire

Activity Update: Excessively high winds have caused the Parker Ridge fire to cross the Westside Road. An evacuation order has been issued. Residents affected by the evacuation order will be contacted by the Boundary County Sheriff’s Department who will also provide the safest evacuation route information. For everyone’s safety, if you are not an area resident, please keep roads clear for evacuees and fire personnel.

Planned Actions: Residents evacuating should go to the Bonners Ferry Fairgrounds. Any other information required, please contact the Boundary County Sheriff’s Department at 208-267-3151 direct.
