Candidate shares qualifications

May 13, 2014
To the Editor:

Hello again, Boundary County citizens. I recently wrote to share my background and qualifications for the position of Boundary County Treasurer in the upcoming May 20 primary election. I feel confident that you have seen my qualifications. Now I write to share more about my goals and desires for the office.

My first goal as your new Treasurer includes providing the county with a seamless transition within the Treasurer’s office. During my past six years as Chief Deputy, I have gained firsthand knowledge of the Treasurer’s duties, so you will continue to see the office run in an efficient and professional manner. Managing revenues is critical for the day-to-day operations of our county. If I am your Treasurer, you will not experience an awkward transition or a “learning curve” that would hinder a newcomer to the position.

Secondly, the Treasurer’s duties include investing your tax monies according to the strict requirements of the laws of the State of Idaho. I will constantly monitor these funds and responsibly represent you in order to seek the highest return on our investment. The more these monies earn, the less county funding relies upon the taxpayer.

Lastly, I will continue in the tradition of our past County Treasurers: Jenny Fessler, Wilma DeVore, and Irma Merrifield. I will work as an integral team member of Boundary County’s elected officials to address our financial needs.

By investing in me, you will invest in Boundary County’s prosperous future.
I ask for your vote on May 20th.

Sue Larson
