Winter weather advisory extended |

A winter weather advisory issued by the National
Weather Service, Spokane, this morning, has been
extended from 10 a.m. Monday until 4 a.m.
Tuesday, calling for even more new snow. The
advisory goes into effect at 10 p.m. today. According to the National Weather Service, the heaviest snowfall will be south of a line extending from Sandpoint to Colville, Washington, with two to five inches of snow in the valleys, though Boundary County could see an inch or two of new snow overnight. Higher elevations could see up to eight inches of new snow. They predict the snow will taper off in the early morning hours through midday Monday, but then pick up again Monday afternoon and into Tuesday as a second cold front moves through. Light snow and scattered rain showers could linger in the area through Friday. |
