Winter weather advisory issued

February 19, 2013
The National Weather Service, Spokane, issued a winter weather advisory including Boundary County at 6:35 a.m. today and in effect until noon calling for one to three inches of snow.

In most areas covered by the advisory, most of the snow is expected to remain above 2,300 feet, but valley locations in North Idaho, including Boundary and Bonner Counties, could see up to three inches, getting heavier as the morning continues and tapering off by early afternoon.

They warn that conditions on rural roads could be slippery, and slippery areas could develop in pockets on Highway 95 between Coeur d'Alene and the Canadian border.

Temperatures are expected to reach the mid-30s this afternoon.
