Hoover apprehended

January 10, 2014
A man who's been missing since December 20, and who was reported as such to Alaska State Troopers December 30, has been found and arrested.

On January 2, Jeremiah Hoover's brother, Adam sent out a Facebook post; "An update for all those concerned about my brother Jeremiah Hoover," he wrote. "He is alive, he is not really 'missing' anymore I guess. Just doesn't want to be found. So thanks for all your concern and support. Hopefully he will come to his senses soon."

An investigation by troopers had linked the 34 year old to setting fire to his father-in-law's truck the day he went missing, and the subsequent theft of a car found abandoned and stuck in a Wasilla ditch.

Troopers caught up with him at about 3 p.m. Thursday at an KGB and North Shore address in Wasilla, where he was arrested on charges of third degree criminal mischief and second degree criminal burning.

He was remanded to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility and set for arraignment at 1 p.m. today.
