Gearing up for the Health Fair

March 12, 2014
A whole lot of folks, and not just those at the hospital, are gearing up for this year's Boundary Community Hospital Health Fair, taking place on Saturday, May 10, and offering more events and activities than ever.

While it's still a bit early, the list of those hosting educational booths or offering free diagnostic tests is growing almost daily. In addition to the health tests performed right there, such as blood pressure and cholesterol, there will also be booths offering coupons for many free tests of a more specialized nature.

There will also be three free fun runs to participate in; 3K, 5K and 10K. Registration for the runs begins at 7 a.m. in front of the Boundary Community Clinics, right across the street from the hospital's main entrance, and runners will be taking off at 8 a.m.

The first 60 runners to register will go home with a free commemorative T-shirt.

As always, this year's Health Fair will include a bike rodeo, also in the lot in front of Boundary Community Clinics, to teach young riders the rules of the road and give important tips so that rides can be safe and fun.

Kids are encouraged to bring their bicycles for a free safety inspection and tune-up, and the first 50 participants who don't have one will recieve a free new bike helmet.
