A custody dispute between a daughter in Spokane and her mother in Boundary County has grown heated, as even though a court has ordered three children returned to their biological parents, their grandmother has allegedly refused to comply.

According to their mother, Felicia Morrison, Spokane, her children were given to the custody of her mother and stepfather, Susan and David McConnell, now living on Shamrock Lane, Bonners Ferry, in 2009. Felicia and her husband, Frank, who is the biological father, began the process of regaining custody of their four children, and on November 8, 2017, did take their oldest son home, but, Felicia says, each time they've tried to get the younger children, grandma says they're off somewhere at a school or educational outing.

A court order for the return of the three children to her, Felicia said, was issued January 4, but now, Felicia said, David McConnell, has taken the children and fled. The children, Dusty, 10, Cassandra, 12, and Dakotah, 14, were last seen with David, who is described as 50 years old, 5'11 and 260 pounds, with black hair and a full beard and mustache. He may be driving a gray Dodge Ram pickup.

Felicia is on her way to Bonners Ferry this morning with documentation from Spokane courts to meet with detectives and court officials to get their assistance. In the meantime, anyone with information on the whereabouts of McConnell and the children are asked to call the Spokane County Sheriff's Office, (509) 477-2240. If it's an emergency, call 911 or the Boundary County Sheriff's Office at (208) 267-3151.
