Women's Basic Firearms Class offered
February 14, 2018
Paula DesBiens, a certified National Rifle Association and U.S. Concealed Carry Association firearms instructor, as well as Idaho/Western /Montana regional trainer for The Well Armed Woman, is offering her first "Women's Basic Firearms Class to Boundary County women on Saturday, March 10.

Paula grew up moving every few years as an Air Force Brat and had the privilege of living everywhere from Guam to North Dakota. She grew up with a love for firearms and for teaching, equipping and empowering women in the safe and effective use of firearms, not only for protection, but for the sheer fun of it!

She and her husband recently moved to Boundary County from the valley of Central California to start a new life. They fell in love with the people and the values of Bonners Ferry, and want to be part of this community!
Paula has a background in women’s ministry and currently works as a recruiter for a benefits administration company.

But her passion, she said, is teaching and training women in the firearms industry.

"I specialize in helping women become comfortable, confident and proficient with their firearms," she said. "I can’t wait to meet and help the women of Bonners Ferry!"

The Women's Basic Firearms Class takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at the Kootenai Valley Gun Range, 67175 Highway 2 across from Sater's Auction, and it offers a non-intimidating, safe environment in which women can learn firearms with other women.

Topics will include an introduction to handguns, handgun safety, proper handling for good marksmanship and how to find the right gun for you.

Introductory price is $50 per person, and pre-registration is required as there are limited spots available. You must be 21 or older to register. Participants should wear a baseball-style cap and bring eye protection and hearing protection. Bring your firearm, unloaded, and 100 rounds of ammunition for your caliber firearm.
