Dale Donald Harrington went home to the Lord June 29, 2012. He passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by his wife, children, and many loved ones.

Services will be held at the Crossroads Chapel at 11 a.m.  Friday, July 6, with burial following at Moravia cemetery. Memorials may be sent in care of the family at P.O. Box 1185, Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

He was born on July 9, 1933, to Charles and Hazel Harrington. He joined three older brothers; Norman, Wayne and Jerry. Shortly after he was born came his younger brother, Charles.

Dale was born and raised in Moravia, Idaho. In 1952, he joined the Army and was stationed in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. While on leave from the Army, he returned to Idaho, where he married Bonita Royer, and she joined him in Kentucky.

He served four years before being honorably discharged in 1956.

Together he and Bonita had three children, Dale Jr., Vicki and Barbara. The couple later divorced.

He worked mainly in the timber industry as a sawyer, skidder and CAT operator with his brother, Jerry.

On April 11, 1976, he married Valerie Estabrooks, and they had a son, Nathan, in 1978. He gained four stepchildren, as well.

Dale and Valerie shared 36 memorable years together. Dale was a very family orientated man. He enjoyed the great outdoors, hunting, fishing and huckleberry picking. He found peace in the word of the Lord and working in his garden. Dale and Val attended Crossroads Chapel.

Dale was preceded in death by his brother Charles, his father, his mother, his brother Jerry, and stepson Roddy Torrence.

He is survived by his wife, Valerie, Bonners Ferry; brothers Norman (Beryl) Harrington, Scotts Bluff, Nebraska, and Wayne (Dorothy) Harrington, Monmouth, Oregon; sons Dale Harrington Jr., Moravia, and Nathan Harrington, Moyie Springs; daughters Vicki (Charles) Dickinson and Barbara (Mike) Rearden all of Post Falls; stepsons Warren Torrence, Spokane, and Evan Torrence, Bonners Ferry; and stepdaughter Nyla (Larry) Kelley, Cedar Creek, Texas. He has 14 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He is loved dearly and will be greatly missed.
