Badgers thump Spartans behind Anzalone's 10 strikeout performance |

Senior Steve Anzalone struck out 10 batters,
walked one, allowed one hit in five innings, and
the Badger offense exploded for 11 runs in the
second inning to beat Intermountain League
opponent Priest River 13-1. The game was called
at 5 innings due to the 10 run rule. The Badgers
pounded out 11 hits and struck out only once in
the game. Freshman Brady Bateman led the team going 3 for 3 at the plate with a double, while senior Shay Garcia went 2 for 2 with a two run double in the second inning. Also in the second inning, Nick Sabin hit a two run triple for the Badgers. The Badgers are 10-6 overall and 4-1 in the Intermountain League, and currently are tied with Timberlake for first place. Bonners Ferry hosts Timberlake next Tuesday for the final game of the season which could decide the league champion. The Badgers play Kellogg in a doubleheader this Saturday at home, and will be honoring their three seniors between games. First game starts at 11:00 a.m. |
