Badger Baseball continues to roll:
Dunham pitches no hitter, Anzalone one hits
Now 7-1 in league play

Sophomore Jesse Dunham recorded his first high school no hitter and senior Steve Anzalone had his quest for a no hitter broken up in the 6th inning with two outs as the Badgers beat the Kellogg Wildcats 2-1 and 6-0 in league play last Saturday. The Badgers overall record is 13-6 and 7-1 in league play.

GAME 1
Dunham struck out five and walked four while keeping the Wildcat bats off balance all game. With a scoreless game going into the bottom of the 3rd inning, leadoff hitter Brady Bateman walked. Dunhman hit a towering RBI double to right center to score Bateman all the way from first. The Badgers added a run in the bottom of the 4th inning when Shay Garcia walked with two outs and later scored on a passed ball.

The Wildcats made it interesting in the top of the 7th inning when their leadoff hitter walked and later advanced on a steal. With one out in the inning, a Kellogg batter was hit by a pitch. With runners at second and third and one out, Kellogg scored on a grounder to second. The tying run was stranded at third to end the game.

GAME 2
Senior Steve Anzalone had his no hitter broken up with two outs in the 6th inning when Brandon Stott of Kellogg hit a lazy single to right field. Anzalone recorded 10 strikeouts while walking only 2 batters in the 6-0 win.

The Badgers scored 2 runs in the first inning after Dunham reached base on a fielder’s choice. After Vince Bennett reached on a walk, Caleb Blackmore hit an RBI single to score Dunham. Bennett later scored on a first and third play with Blackmore getting into a run down at first. The Badgers added a run in the bottom of the 2nd inning after Garcia walked with one out and later scored on a RBI ground out from Nick Sabin.

Bonners Ferry added two more runs in the 3rd inning when Bateman led off with a single and later scored on Anzalone’s RBI single to center. Bennett then hit a RBI single to score Anzalone. Bonners Ferry added a final run in the 5th inning after Bateman hit his third single of the game and later scored on another RBI single from Anzalone.

Brady Bateman went 3 for 3 at the plate scoring 2 runs, while Steve Anzalone went 2 for 3 with two RBI. Vince Bennett and Caleb Blackmore both went 1 for 2 with a RBI.
