R. Labrador (R):
U.S. Congressman Raul Labrador, representing Idaho's
First District, announced
his bid for re-election in
January.
Labrador was born in Puerto Rico and raised in a single
parent household. His mother worked hard to ensure that
her son had the opportunity to receive an education.
After high school, he went on to obtain a degree from
Brigham Young University and later completed his J.D.
from the University of Washington. Labrador, an
immigration attorney, ran his own law practice until
elected to Congress.
His political career began in 2006 when he was elected
to the Idaho State Legislature representing western Ada
County. In 2010, Raúl was elected to represent the
people of the first congressional district of Idaho.
Raúl and his wife Rebecca are the proud parents of 5
children, Michael, Katerina, Joshua, Diego, and Rafael.
Their family is actively involved in their church and
community in Eagle, Idaho. |
