Bad week for trucks in Moyie Springs

November 14, 2012
Boundary County Sheriff's detectives are currently investigating two incidents involving pickups that happened in Moyie Springs this week, one a theft, one a fire.

The theft happened at Chad Farren's mill, 105 West Mountain View Road, sometime Monday night or early Tuesday morning. Detectives were able to follow tracks in the snow for several miles, but lost the trail and believe the stolen truck entered Montana.

The truck, which he uses for his business, in a 1996 3/4-ton Dodge 2500, blue in color with a red driver's side door and no tailgate.

At 10:08 p.m. Tuesday, sheriff's dispatch received a report of a vehicle fire behind the Moyie Club, 3128 Roosevelt Road. The pickup, belonging to club owner Debbie Hayes, was a total loss.

Detectives say the fire is suspicious and it is under investigation, and that they do have a suspect or suspects they are planning to interview.

Anyone with information on either incident are asked to call the sheriff's office, (208) 267-3151, extension 0.
