Road clearing will take time
February 10, 2017

Boundary County Emergency Management

One of the leftovers from our declared emergency snow storm is the terrible condition of all our city and county roads. Roads are being cleared as quickly as possible within the county, but it's going to take time.

At this time many of the roads are plowed to a very narrow, almost one lane condition due to the high piles of snow on each side of all roads.

There is simply nowhere to put any more snow.

We are also experiencing a tremendous number of potholes due to the ice melt and freeze that happens each day. This is normal as the expansion and contraction wreaks havoc with the road surface.

We are asking that all who must drive each day be very careful. The road surface changes very fast during this freeze and thaw period.

Also if you do not have to drive, please don’t. Save yourself the trouble of repairing your vehicle, someone else’s vehicle, and possibly your own health.

Stay home when you can and protect yourself and family.
