Major highway projects to begin in Kootenai County
April 28, 2017
The Idaho Department of Transportation will begin two major improvement projects on US 95 and Interstate 90 in Kootenai County in the days ahead.

Work is tentatively set to start May 8 on a road resurfacing project on Highway 95 from just about the Blackwell Island Slough to Cougar Gulch. This work is weather dependent.

ITD will be lowering the roadway in I-90 so that large trucks can fit under each bridge through Coeur d'Alene. This is a huge endeavor and really helpful so that there is no longer an oversize truck route through Sherman Avenue. The road will be resurfaced as well. Work is set to begin no earlier than May 17.

For more information on these projects, please contact the ITD District 1 office at (208) 772-1200.
