Brown tabs to protect trees
June 26, 2017
Have you seen these packets attached to trees and wondered what they do?

Idaho Department of Lands, Forest Health Protection and volunteers came together recently to staple anti-aggregation pheromone bubble capsules, known as MCH, onto trees on nearly 1,000 acres of Idaho State land.

The pheromone sends a chemical message telling beetles to stay away from the trees.

The acres protected were impacted by the 2015 fires near Kamiah, Idaho.
