Badger Bands rate highly at Group Festival, have
more big events coming up (including one big
event tonight!) |
April 10, 2018 |
The Badger Bands are busy, as usual.
Their next big event is coming up tonight,
Tuesday, April 10, when the Bonners Ferry High
School jazz Band will join the high school Honor
Choir in a presentation called Swing Jazz, a
concert outlining the history of jazz in 1930s
America. This promises to be a night of fun,
dancing, and entertainment.
In early May, the BFHS band will be hosting in
Bonners Fery the band from David Thompson
Secondary School of Invermere, British Columbia,
as they travel through Bonners Ferry on their
way south. The will spend the day her to meet
and exchange ideas with local BFHS band
students, the bands will play together, and the
Invermere band will also put on a performance
for the Bonners Ferry students, with a dinner
served afterward.
Both the high school Concert Band and the Middle
School Bands recently participated in the
District 1 Large Group Festival. The Middle
School bands received a rating of "Excellent"
for their performances, and the High School band
received a "Superior" rating, the only small
school to receive that honor.
"I am so impressed with the young people in our
bands. What a huge accomplishment, great people
on top of being great musicians!" said Badger
Bands instructor Jessica Hanna.
