(Obermayer) Becquart, 74, passed away at her
home in Moyie Springs, April 11, 2012. We will
be having a celebration of life for Marie at the
Yaak campground on April 28 in the early
afternoon. All are welcome.
MarieJoy was born on in Troy, Montana, January
10, 1938, to Roland and Mollie (Starr)
Obermayer. She attended school in the upper Yaak
and Troy. After high school, she met and married
the love of her life, Tommie Lee Becquart. They
shared 54 loving years together. Tom preceded
her in death September 11, 2010.
Survivors include daughter Sheri Pickford and
husband Scott, Moyie Springs, daughter Rhonna
Russell and husband, Bob, Bonners Ferry, brother
Bill Obermayer and wife Karen of Kalispell
Montana, sister Candie Foust and husband Randy
Buckner of Libby, Montana; grandsons Brandon
Bourland, Moyie Springs, and Kyle Bourland,
Green River, Wyoming, and great grandson, Laine
Bourland, Bonners Ferry.
MarieJoy enjoyed the simple joys of life.
She loved to camp and cook and being Tom’s wife.
MarieJoy and Tom loved to travel to new places
and meet new people. They spent the last six
years traveling to Arizona, where they looked
forward to meeting up with their friends. Marie
was an outstanding cook who took very good care
of her husband and family over the years.
She was a beautiful woman, being very strong
through her illness. Her family will miss her
very much, as will her friends.
