Joan Vivian Baesemann

Joan Vivian Baesemann, 86, passed away on July 20, 2012, at the Boundary County Nursing Home in Bonners Ferry. Funeral services will be held at at 10 a.m. the Bonners Funeral Homeon Saturday July 28. Final interment will be held at the Baesemann Cemetery in Ribs Fall, Wisconsin, in late September.

Joan V. Baesemann was born April 4, 1926, in Wausau, Wisconsin, to Norman and Viola (Koch) Warner. She went to a one room school until the eighth grade. She opted to stay home and work on the farm instead of going to town to live and go to high school.

She married Hilbert Baesemann in 1945 in Wausau. She was a stay at home mom and house wife. She was an excellent seamstress and made most of her children's clothing and took in sewing for others.

Later in life she went to work as a waitress, cook/matron at the Marathon County, Wisconsin, jail and and later as nurses aide. She moved to Bonners Ferry in 1977 with daughter Debbie to be near daughter Penny. She worked at the Restorium and at the Academy of the Rockies and milked cows before her retirement.

After her retirement she taught hand knitting to the 4H kids and taught in her home and at several businesses in Bonners Ferry. Her knitting is in about half of the United States and several foreign countries. In her later years she learned to do counted cross stitching and her needle work looks like photos.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, daughter Peggy, bother Morgan Warner, brother Russell Warner, son in law Larry Richards.

She is survived by her children John (JoAnn) Baesemann, Prescott Valley Arizona, Bruce (Paula) Baesemann, Tulare, California; Penny Burch, Kootenai, Idaho; Pam Deedon, Colorado; and Debbie Richards of Bonners Ferry; sister Nona Vickers of Ohio and sister in law Delores Warner. She is survived by nine grand children, nine great grand children. numerous nieces, nephew and cousins.
