Barbara M. Cratty, 77, died on Saturday,
November 25, 2017, of natural causes at her home
in Troy. Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m.
Friday, December 1, at the Schnackenberg &
Nelson Funeral Home in Libby. Services will be
at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 2, at the Troy
Church of God, E212 Kalispell Avenue.
She was born on January 13, 1940, in Des Moines,
Iowa, to William and Gertrude McDonough. She
graduated from John Marshall High School in Los
Angeles in 1958.
Barbara was a secretary at Capital Records in
Los Angeles. She married Peter J. Cratty on
April 3, 1960, in Los Angeles. They moved to
Bonners Ferry, to Libby and then to Troy in 1968
while Pete worked on the Libby Dam Project.
Barbara loved family gatherings at the family
home in Troy, dressing up for the holidays,
riding her scooter, Happy Hour at the VFW,
hummingbirds and wind chimes. She was an avid
pool player and loved to play ping pong.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter
Cratty, and granddaughter Keara Lee Cratty.
Survivors include her sons, Mark Cratty and wife
Carene and Michael Cratty, all of Troy, and
Marvin and wife Denise Cratty, Santee,
California, brothers William McDonough and John
McDonough, sister Brenda McDonough, seven
grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
