Upcoming legislative committee meeting
on transfer of federal lands to Idaho
September 3, 2014
To the Editor:

Good morning everyone. On occasion, “We the People” have an opportunity to express our opinion to those that make the laws of the state of Idaho.

An opportunity to do so will occur on Friday, September 12 at noon at the Sandpoint Events Center, 102 South Euclid Street, Sandpoint, Idaho. I cannot express enough just how important this meeting can be to our community. We need to let the Idaho Legislature's Federal Lands Interim Committee know that we not only want, but expect them to follow through on their assignment to work towards getting our federal lands into the hands of Idaho.

If we do not show up then these legislators will believe that we do not care about this subject. As it is, the chairman, Senator Chuck Winder, does not believe we can make this happen. Utah is light years ahead of Idaho in making this happen, but we as the citizens of Idaho need to make sure that they do follow through on this.

This will not be a mission that will be solved overnight. It will take time and it will take work, and if the members of this committee are not dedicated to making this happen, then they need to find people that will follow through, even if it is members of the public working as a task force for this committee.

Please take the time to attend this meeting; I have attached the flier (see the link below). If you do not know where the Sandpoint Events Center is, as you travel south on Highway 95 in the city limits of Sandpoint, instead of turning left to go to Coeur d'Alene, stay right going towards Priest River and it will be on the left just after you make your right turn.

Even if you don’t want to speak, there is power in numbers. Please take the time out of your busy schedule to make a difference. Please pass this notice on to all of your Boundary and Bonner County contacts.

Thanks,
Donna Capurso
