Hearing on comp plan amendments set

January 24, 2014
The Boundary County Planning and Zoning Commission signed an application for Comprehensive Plan Amendment Thursday January 16. Commission members have been working for a year updating and refining changes to Chapters 13 and 14 of the plan, covering Land Use and Implementation.

Because of judicial rulings, the county zoning and subdivision ordinance was reviewed and changed in 2011. The P&Z members deleted or changed obsolete references in the Comprehensive Plan to be consistent with the zoning and subdivision ordinance. Also, language in Chapters 13 and 14 were rewritten to be more general in character; some specific descriptions which are in the county ordinance were rewritten or removed so not to duplicate one another.

The proposed changes are available for the public to review on the county planning and zoning website http://www.boundarycountyid.org/planning/index.htm.

There will be a public hearing on the amendment application at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, February 13, in the main courtroom of the county courthouse. The county Board of Commissioners will hold a second public hearing and make a final decision on a date to be determined.
