Update:  Two serious motor vehicle accidents reported on US 95
August 18, 2014,   12:20 pm
Two motor vehicle collisions have been reported in Boundary County this morning, at least one of which appears to have serious injuries.

According to early reports, the first collision was a single vehicle accident occurring on US Highway 95 near milepost 528, which is a little north of the Mt. Hall / Highway 1 junction on US 95. Initially Life Flight was dispatched to that accident scene.

A short time later, a second separate accident occurred near the Hooten's Hollow area, Milepost 513 on Highway 95, which is 3 or 4 miles north of the Three Mile area.

This second accident appears to be serious in nature, a two vehicle accident with potentially multiple injuries. Reports are that US Highway 95 in this area is completely shut down and traffic is being diverted to the Meadow Creek / Moyie River Road. Our reports are that at least two and possibly three medical air evacuation helicopters have been dispatched to this accident scene. Additional Idaho State Police units have been summoned to the area. Multiple local ambulances also dispatched to the area.

Reports are that truck traffic is being stopped at both the Porthill and Eastport ports of entry. It is anticipated the the closure of US Highway 95 will be prolonged in this area.
