New owner for ET Wireless
September 13, 2014
ET Wireless, the cell phone sales and service business, located on Bonners Ferry's south hill since 2007, was recently sold to local resident Joy Schmitz.

Ms. Schmitz has been a long-time resident of Boundary County, and for a time operated her own house cleaning business here. Four years ago, she was hired for part-time work at ET Wireless, then later began working three-quarters time there. About two years ago, Ms. Schmitz was advanced to office manager at ET Wireless.

Early this year, the previous owner had decided she wanted to sell the business, and offered it for purchase to her office manager, Ms. Schmitz. After some pondering, Ms. Schmitz decided to buy ET Wireless, and the sale was completed at the end of August about two weeks ago.

Currently, Ms. Schmitz is the only person working at the business, six days per week. She hopes to continue to grow this business, eventually hire more employees, and expand her sales offerings. "My vision is to be the place people want to go to get their phone, tablets, and office supplies, and not think twice about going anywhere else," she said."

"We have always, from the day I started working there, taken great value in our customer service, and that is one thing I will not change," she added.

Upcoming anticipated changes include offering a trade-in program for people who no longer want their device. Also, she will eventually have the ability to work with other carriers along with the pre-paid Verizon Wireless service.  Wireless devices sold there will be Verizon Wireless devices.

"I have already begun bringing in more office and school supplies, trying to bridge the gap since LaMar's closed. I am also looking into bringing in more electronic office items, such as computer keyboards and mouse, also wireless home phones."

Ms. Schmitz has scheduled a grand opening event, coming up this Saturday, September 20. For that event, there will be drawings for door prizes, and all accessories and office supplies will be 10% off. If customers bring in four non-perishable items to donate to the Community Action food bank, located in the same building, another 10% off will be given.

Stop by ET Wireless if you get a chance, and look over the business under its new ownership.  Their address is 6665 South Main, in Bonners Ferry.
