Bonners Ferry Badgers are champions
in remarkable baseball season
May 2, 2015
Just in case you're not aware, we have a championship team going on here.

The Bonners Ferry High School Badger Baseball team muscled their way through their Intermountain League schedule with only one loss, winning the League Championship.

Along the way, the 3A Badgers had a no-hitter, a one-hitter, defeated 4A Sandpoint, and wrapped up multiple opponents early in five inning games through application of the mercy rule with 10+ run leads.

On Friday, already having sealed the league championship, the Badgers marched into hostile territory to play the 5A Post Falls Trojans on the road, and came away with a 10-6 win.

Take a glance at the Sports section of NewsBF, where you'll see the list of stories peppered with accounts of Badger baseball victories over the past few weeks, and read about some remarkable high school athletes and their accomplishments this season.

If you are looking for some very fun and exciting baseball, you still have a chance to see this team in action. The District Tournament is next up, to determine who goes to the Idaho State Championship. As League Champion, the Badgers earned the right to host the District Tournament. It will begin this Monday, May 4, at the BFHS Baseball Field in Bonners Ferry.

Bonners Ferry's first game will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. when the Badgers take on Priest River. The following day, Tuesday, will be the championship game with the winner going to the State Tournament.
