Idaho Transportation Department sets public meeting to discuss U.S. Highway 95 on Bonners Ferry's South Hill
July 22, 2015
A public hearing will be held Wednesday, August 5, to accept comment on plans to improve the section of U.S. Highway 95 that runs through the South Hill area of Bonners Ferry, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

The department is working on a preliminary design for this section of the highway. The design will continue a three-lane concept north from Alderson Lane to Madison Street, and will address pedestrian safety, vehicle safety, stormwater runoff, alignment of city street intersections, and consistency of roadway configuration through town.

The public hearing will be Wednesday, August 5, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Boundary County Middle School, 6577 Main Street in Bonners Ferry. Those interested in attending can stop by that day anytime between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

At the hearing, displays will illustrate information on right of way, a typical roadway cross section and intersection modifications. Project staff will be available to answer questions, and those interested in submitting verbal comments can have their input recorded by a hearing officer.

For additional information, please contact Ben Ward, ITD District 1 project manager, at ben.ward@itd.idaho.gov or at (208) 772-1285.
