August 15, 3:30 p.m.:  Parker Ridge Fire has
tripled in size since yesterday
August 15, 2015
Fire officials are now reporting the Parker Ridge Fire encompasses approximately 6,539 acres, tripling its size from yesterday's reported 2,000 acres. There are 96 personnel assigned to the fire.

Firefighters stopped the advance of the fire at Long Canyon Creek to the north and Farm to Market Road to the east.

As previously reported by NewsBF, only one out building was lost. All residents evacuated safely and no homes were lost. Last night's evacuation order for Porthill and the Farm to Market area has been lifted, and all may now return to their homes.

The Copeland Road and the West Side evacuation area remain closed to public access. Only Fire and Emergency traffic are permitted in the area.
