Flu shots available now at Panhandle Health District
October 13, 2015
Panhandle Health District is encouraging everyone over six months of age to get their influenza (a.k.a. “flu”) vaccine. Flu season is coming and now is the best time to protect yourself. In Bonners Ferry, flu shots are available for children, adults and seniors.

An off-site clinic hosted by Panhandle Health District will be offering flu shots for adults at the Bonners Ferry Senior Center (6635 Lincoln) on October 28, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. No appointment is necessary.

Flu shots or FluMist are now available by appointment for children through age 18. Call (208) 267-5558 to make an appointment today.

All medical insurance, including Medicaid and Medicare Part B are accepted. Most insurances cover the cost of flu shots. Without insurance, a children’s flu shot is $20.00, and adult flu shot is $39.00 and a high-dose flu shot (recommended for those 65 and older) is $55.00.

The flu shot is the best way to protect yourself from the flu. You can continue to prevent the spread of the flu throughout your community by washing your hands often and avoiding people with cold or flu symptoms. If you have flu symptoms, it is advised that you stay home to prevent spreading the virus to others. And as always, cover your coughs and sneezes.
