Funding available for private forest lands in Lower Kootenai River Watershed Restoration Project
 
The local office of the Boundary Soil Conservation District has announced that Boundary County has obtained a grant to address a variety of issues on non-industrial private forest lands.

Some of the objectives of this project are:
ŸStewardship Plans for forest management
ŸHazardous Fuel Reduction
ŸForest Planting and Thinning, to restore species composition to Western Larch, Ponderosa Pine and White Pine
ŸStreambank Riparian Restoration, favoring native plantings
ŸWeed Control of noxious weeds on forest lands.
