Final results from Democratic Presidential
caucuses; Boundary County and statewide numbers |

Voting results from the Democratic Presidential
Caucuses held this past Tuesday show that
Boundary County numbers were similar to the
outcome statewide in Idaho: an overwhelming
victory for Bernie Sanders.
As the final tabulations became available,
results show that in Boundary County, 188
Democrats turned out and voted in our county
caucus. Of those 188, 158 Boundary County
Democrats voted for Mr. Sanders, 27 for
candidate Hillary Clinton, with three voters
"uncommitted." These numbers gave Mr. Sanders
84% of the Boundary County votes, with Ms.
Clinton gaining 14%.
Statewide, Mr. Sanders swept every county in
Idaho except for Lewis County, where he lost the
county to Ms. Clinton by a single vote, 20 votes
to 19. Lewis County is the county where Kamiah
is located.
Total votes for Idaho show 23,884 votes cast
statewide in the Democratic caucuses, with
18,640 (78%) going to Mr. Sanders, and 5,065
(21%) going to Ms. Clinton.
The state convention for Idaho's Democrats will
be in June, where 384 delegates selected at the
caucuses from around the state will convene.
Based on voting in Tuesday's caucuses, 298 of
those delegates were awarded to Mr. Sanders,
with 86 delegates going to Ms. Clinton. All of
Boundary County's three allotted delegates go to
Mr. Sanders.
The Idaho Democratic Convention will send 27
delegates to the Democratic National Convention
in Philadelphia in July.
