Results are in for yesterday's Idaho statewide
Primary Election.
In Boundary County races, candidates were set
for the General election coming up in November.
In the Republican primary for Boundary County
Sheriff, David Kramer tallied the most votes
over the other two candidates, incumbent Greg
Sprungl and current deputy David Schuman. Mr.
Kramer will appear as the Republican nominee for
Sheriff on November's ballot.
In the two Boundary County Commissioner races,
incumbent 2nd District Commissioner Walt Kirby
narrowly defeated challenger Donna Capurso, with
Mr. Kirby getting only 50 more votes than Ms.
Capurso, out of a total of 2,196 votes cast in
that contest.
Dan Dinning, the incumbent Commissioner for the
3rd District, ran unopposed and received 1,796
votes.
Boundary County Prosecuting Attorney Jack
Douglas, who also ran unopposed, received 1,633
votes.
In voting for statewide offices, Boundary County
Republicans voted for incumbent U.S. Senator
Mike Crapo to represent their party on
November's ballot, while the Democrats of the
county selected Jerry Sturgill to run against
Mr. Crapo. Both were running unopposed in their
respective parties.
In voting for Idaho's 1st District
Representative to Congress, Boundary County
Republicans selected incumbent Raul Labrador to
run in November, and Democrats voted for James
Piotrowski.
Statewide, the results for U.S. Senator and U.S.
Representative for Idaho District 1 were the
same as the Boundary County voting.
In voting for Idaho State legislators, incumbent
Idaho District 1 State Senator Shawn Keough
defeated challenger Glenn Rohrer on the
Republican side. On the Democratic side, Steve
Tanner, running unopposed, will be representing
the party challenging Senator Keough in
November. The District-wide results were the
same as those listed for Boundary County.
For Idaho State District 1 Representatives,
Republicans went with incumbents Heather Scott
and Sage Dixon, while Boundary County Democrats
voted for Kate McAlister to run against Ms.
Scott, and for Stephen Howlett, who outgained
Bob Vickaryous in voting, to run agains Mr.
Dixon.
In the closely watched non-partisan election for
the open position on the Idaho Supreme Court,
Boundary County went with Curt McKenzie, while
the winner statewide was Rupert, Idaho attorney
Robyn Brody.
