Barbara (Rae) Brazier, age 99, passed away at her home at Sullivan Park in Spokane Valley, Washington on March 11, 2015. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 17 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Bonners Ferry, Idaho with interment in Grandview Cemetery.

Rae was born on August 7, 1915 in Bonners Ferry, Idaho to James W. and Julia A. Egan. She grew up in Bonners Ferry and graduated From Bonners Ferry High School in 1934. She worked at Wickstrom’s Drug for many years. During this time on July 20, 1944 she married Harold E. (Bud) Brazier, her husband of 65 years, until his death in 2010. She also worked at Cone’s Grocery & Café and in later years worked in the Boundary County Auditor’s office until her retirement.

Throughout her life Rae enjoyed cooking, baking, fishing, playing games and cards with family and friends. She spent many hours camping, traveling to various campsites in the Pacific Northwest.

Rae and Bud sold their home and moved to Spokane, Washington where they lived with their daughter and later at an assisted living complex. After Bud passed away in 2010, Rae moved to Sullivan Park.

Their home was always open to everyone!

Survivors include two daughters Candee A. Freeman of Spokane; Julie S. Cook and husband Gary of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; Grandchildren Christopher J. Freeman of Manhattan, Kansas; Waco J. Freeman of Spokane; Deborah J. Kerr and husband Dean of Bonners Ferry; Leslie A. Shelton and husband Paul of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; Lori L. Hill and husband Pete of Rathdrum, Idaho, and Lisa R. Cook of Bonners Ferry, and eight great grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be made to St. Ann’s Catholic Church or the Community Restorium.
