Myrna Margaret Helms Amoth
February 5, 1934 ~ July 14, 2015
July 20, 2015
Myrna Margaret Helms Amoth was born to Carl and Amanda Helms on February 5, 1934 at Prineville, Oregon . While her grandchildren were singing to her, she peacefully passed away on July 14, 2015, at the Restorium in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Our family is very grateful for the loving care that she received there. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 20, 2015 at 11:00am in the Mountain View Mennonite Church at Bonners Ferry, Idaho with interment in the Mountain View Mennonite Cemetery.

She was married to me, Donald Amoth, on March 20, 1953. The first years of our marriage were lived in Oregon, later moving to Bonners Ferry.

Our home was blessed with three sons and two daughters. Myrna always enjoyed our children, grandchildren, and foster children. She was happiest with a baby on her lap.

Mom had a new birth experience and was baptized into the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite at the Mountain View congregation. Although she experienced struggles in her Christian life, she always wanted her children to be Christians. Mom came back to the Lord five years before her death.

We spent many winters in Arizona, especially enjoying the Sun Valley congregation at El Mirage, who were instrumental in her finding her way back to the Lord. Myrna enjoyed special friendships with her neighbors both in Bonners Ferry and in Phoenix.

Those who preceded her in death were our son Randy, her parents, her brothers Wayne and Raymond, her sister Crystal, one granddaughter Andrea, and one great-grandson Randy.

She leaves behind her husband Don; sons Anthony and wife Darla of Grafton, North Dakota; Delton and wife Anna; daughters Carla Ratzloff and Karen Sue and husband Troy Harms, all of Bonners Ferry; daughter-in-law Gail and husband Paul Hughes of Hazelton, Idaho; one sister, Donnabelle Jones of Glide, Oregon.

There are 14 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and many relatives and friends who will miss her.
