Travis Peterson romps for yardage Saturday as the Badger sixth graders fight their way to a 14-0 blowout over Eureka.
Two young Badger football teams took a road trip to Eureka, Montana, Saturday, and both teams put on performances that bode well for the future of Badger football, with the fifth graders fighting their way to a 16-14 win and the sixth graders romping to a 14-0 blowout.

Showing poise both on the field and off, Teigan Banning, who scored two touchdowns, listens to his coaches after Saturday's blowout.
The fifth graders hit the field with a strong running game in a battle that went down to the wire. Big runs by Badger Henry Willis helped the Badgers take an early lead, but it was a back and forth struggle right up to the last second.

Coach Gary Aitken Jr. credited big blocks by Phineas Graupner with opening up the sweeps, and said strong blocking up front by Siver, Pope, Regher, Freeman and Aitken helped the Badgers hold the momentum throughout the game.

"Power football," said coach Todd Carver of the sixth grade game. "Blake Rice had some nice runs and there were some big tackles by Travis Peterson. The offensive line opened up plenty of holes."

Teigan Banning grabbed an interception that set up a score and scored two touchdowns on quarterback keepers behind that strong front line of Dillon Mai, Zach Carver, Travis Peterson and Tyler Pop. Peterson, who played center and nose guard, ran in a two point conversion and Cleo Hensley enjoyed a fine running game.

Both teams head south to take on Timberlake this Saturday.
