Words

Words … how many times have I said that words are such feeble folk? They are tiny droplets of dew trying to portray the oceans of the globe … as I would try to use them to describe this emotion … this living, breathing entity within that we have but one word for … LOVE!

It is like the first utterance from the mouth of God … the “word” that brought everything out of nothing, and caused the most intricate design and delicate beauty, the most intense silence of the total vacuum of space, simultaneously with the most dramatically explosive starburst or nova!

The calming gentle waltz of the early morning mist across the warm, damp meadow, simultaneously with the thundering crash and spewing lava of the fiercest volcanic eruption! These are “emotions”!

“Love” is the inspiration that causes sudden spurts of emotional energy and flashes of intellectual “lightning” … broadening the horizons until there are no boundaries… only endless possibilities.  love, true love, cannot be silenced or stopped … it cannot be cancelled or killed … it cannot be distracted, detoured or destroyed! For “LOVE” is not a feeling! It is a creative word of God which abides forever!

So, I guess I have been wrong all along!

Words are tools, and tools alone can do nothing, but in the hands of the Master, they have the power of creative energy, or of life and death!

I believe that God has imparted to us who are the one piece of all His creation that was specifically made in HIS image, some of the same ability with words!

What we choose to say, write, sing or even think has that same powerful energy … not to “create” something from nothing, but to breath life-giving inspiration, to encourage and enlighten, to impact those around us either positively or negatively … in essence the power of life and death! (Pro. 18:21a)

No! Words are not feeble at all! Choose yours well today!
